What Defines a Rose

Roses are any of the wild or cultivated, usually prickly-stemmed, pinnate-leaved, showy-flowered shrubs of the genus Rosa.

Why Choose a Rose

Roses are a classic. Buying a bouquet for a loved one can be expensive, but grow your own and that's a problem you'll never face. They come in a multitude of colors, all of them stunning.Furthermore, if you want to send a message, different colors of rose have different meanings in the language of flowers. They can be used to express everything from passionate desire, to death of a friendship.

Types of Roses

Roses are composed of four sub-genes': Hulthemia, hesperrhodos, platyrhodon, and rosa. Rosa contains 11 further sections of rose:

  4. Carolinae
  5. Chinensis
  6. Gallicanae
  7. Gymnocarpae
  8. Laevigatae
  9. Pimpinellifoliae
  10. Cinnamomeae
  11. Synstylae
